In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

It gives me pleasure to welcome you all in the 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of International Medicare Limited (IML).

We have an excellent leader, Mr. Mubin Khan (Managing Director), who is driving our organization in the right direction for prosperity. We acknowledge his dedication and commitment to IML. We all are committed to support him and his team members working in managing the Medical College, Hospitals and other institutions established by IML.

In 2025, we continued to promote and protect the health of the Bangladeshi people by ensuring high standards of education, training and assessment of the medical profession. We have given priority to Accreditation of Medical Education in accordance with requirements of Bangladesh Medical Education Accreditation Council. Once accredited, our graduates can pursue career to any part of the world. We have stressed on skill development of medical and nursing students through morning and evening Clinical Ward Classes in the Hospital setting. We have established a new spacious 4,500 sq ft Library for the medical students with 350 seating capacity. The modern library has all latest facilities including Wi-Fi Internet and e-library. We have also established Medical Skill Centre with Simulation Laboratory in IMC. Medical Education Unit has been established in IMC, where CME programs are being conducted regularly. We are committed to produce fully skilled medical professionals of global standard.

Engaging with you and the broader community provided some of the most memorable moments of the year. During the past 12 months, we enthusiastically welcomed the return to a full roster of events. As part of our commitment to improve hospital care we have expanded our Cabins and introduced Superior Ward. Our goal has always been to provide the best possible service with an affordable price. We have started setting up Outreach Centers, to areas of need, that will expand our hospital service coverage and increase the number of indoor patients. We have gone to the level of Community engagement in visiting schools, local physicians and different social forums. We have developed our own referral network. We have introduced Dept of Neurosurgery at IMCH. These measures are part of diversifying our services as well as increasing organizational income. We are introducing application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Health Care and Education in Collaboration with a US Organization. We stress on Team Bonding to achieve our goals. Exciting plans are underway to offer even more events in the coming year to showcase the impact of donor gifts and partnership.

The IML’s work is a critical component to addressing doctor shortfalls in rural and regional areas. Our Strategic Plan focuses on medical education and Postgraduate training responsive to country needs – promoting medical education and training that is responsive to the workforce needs of the Asia region, particularly Bangladeshi community.

To facilitate specialized care to central Tongi residents during evening time, IMCH diagnostic & consultation center, an outreach of IMCH, has diversified its services to benefit all patients. Newer diagnostic equipments have been installed, and more and more specialties were added.

We recall the profound contribution of our senior members Maj Gen M Abdur Rab (Retd), Col. M. Anwarul Azim (Retd) and Md. Akikur Rahman, who left us this year. They were the key leadership who guided the ship to its present position. Their contributions to IML, and thereby service to the community would remain as ever-following charity (Sadka-E-Jariya). May All mighty Allah grant them Jannatul Ferdous.

On behalf of the Directors, I extend thanks to the Managing Director and his team - the dedication and proficiency of the IMC, IMCH, INC and IHTU staffs and the professional leadership is evident in everything they do. We have received all out support from Government of Bangladesh officials, particularly from Dean’s Office, Dhaka University, members of our IMC Governing Body, INC Governing Body, DGME and DGHS officials throughout our work. We are thankful to all of them. To my fellow Directors and to the Vice-Chairperson, thank you for your commitment and collegiality.

While firmly rooted in our mission, we remain future-focused. Planning for the future dominated our efforts in the past year. We worked alongside clinical and technical leadership to help define the future of care at IML Institutions for the next quarter century. As our plans take shape, we look forward to sharing the development of that future vision with you.

It’s been an incredible year of engagement, planning and growth – and we’re grateful for your continued belief in our mission and leadership. Thank you for all your support and cooperation.

With gratitude,

Monira Azim
